Madrid is often given the same tagline as New York City, “The city that never sleeps”. This is because life in Madrid is always present. There are many good reasons to organize your hen do in Madrid. In this article, a couple will be listed so that you can get an idea of what activities you could organize.
1. The sunny weather
Sun’s out guns out! As you probably know, Spain is known for being a popular holiday destination. People from all over the world come here to enjoy the incredible Spanish sun. In Madrid, the temperature you can expect depends on the month you’re visiting. Summer months will obviously be the hottest with temperatures up to 30°C / 86.0°F. If you prefer less sun, April, May, and October are months where the temperature still is really pleasant, yet less sweaty. There’s no denying Spain has an amazing climate with plenty of sunshine. A hen do in Madrid will result in Mrs. Married coming home with a big smile on her sunburned face. It won’t be a trip she’ll soon forget.
2. The delicious food
Spanish cuisine is famous all over the world. Paella, seafood, and tapas can all be found in Madrid. The Spanish like to have dinner late, so don’t expect to find full restaurants at seven in the evening. It’s better to go when the locals go out to eat, the atmosphere is so much better then. They also like to take their time when enjoying a meal. This way, it becomes more of a social event. Going out to eat is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with the groom-to-be while you’re all enjoying the amazing food Madrid has to offer. If you’re not the biggest fan of Spanish food (which would be quite shocking), there’s plenty of alternatives. Madrid is an international city which means there are restaurants from all over the world. Don’t miss the opportunity to get inspired by the Spanish passion for food whilst enjoying the unique Mediterranean cuisine.
3. The vibrant nightlife
If you’ve ever been to a party in Spain, you know that the Spanish seem to need no sleep. Madrid is home to some truly unique clubs that often stay open until early in the morning. Naturally, for a good party, there must be the right vibe. Luckily, there are many different kinds of clubs in Madrid featuring various kinds of music. This way you can pick the party that’s just right for the woman with the ring. The venues are truly one-of-a-kind as well. There is a club with seven floors, one that was built in a historical theatre, etc. It’s always recommendable to do your research before going clubbing in Madrid since most events work with a guest list and there are often other specifics such as a dress code.
4. The diverse culture
As previously mentioned, Madrid is a place where people from all over the world find themselves in a multicultural Valhalla. The most dominant culture obviously remains the Spanish one. Luckily, Spanish culture is known for being open, warm, and welcoming. If your squad is into a more cultural experience, you will definitely find it in Madrid. With plenty of museums, architecture, and other cultural activities accessible year-round.
5. A welcoming city
A hen do in Madrid is a great idea because of the number of things you can do. The city center is rather compact, which allows you to walk to a lot of popular places in the center. Furthermore, public transportation is arranged fantastically in the sense that you can get nearly everywhere by bus or metro. Keep in mind that the metro closes at 2:00 in the morning though, which means that it’s likely a taxi needs to be arranged if you go out at night. Finding accommodation is also not going to be an issue. There are plenty of hotels, hostels, and tourist apartments available. Simply put, Madrid is the ideal city for a hen weekend.
6. Reasonable prices
Comparing Spain to northern European countries, prices for items such as food, drinks, hotels, etc. are generally cheaper. This is great since the lower price does not show in the quality of these items, and let’s be honest, enjoying the exact same drink as back home, under the Spanish sun, with a lower price tag, isn’t going to feel bad.
